O ex-judoca Carlos Eduardo Motta, mais conhecido como Carlos Eduardo “Tico”, de 56 anos, foi baleado após tentar fugir de um assalto em Santo André, região do Grande ABC. Tico teve um papel muito importante na história do judô brasileiro.
Tico foi vice-campeão dos Jogos Pan-americanos de 1975 (cidade do México), campeão pan-americano, campeão sul-americano, campeão da Copa Latina, Campeão ibero-americano, atleta olímpico em 1976 (Montreal, Canadá), participou de quatro mundiais e possui títulos paulistas e brasileiros.
De acordo informações iniciais, quando Tico entrou na rua, um veículo parou ao lado dele e anunciou o assalto. Ele tentou arrancar com o carro e levou dois tiros que acertaram o lado esquerdo do seu corpo.
Uma professora de educação física de uma escola próxima ao local do assalto correu para ajudá-lo, mas o próprio Tico dirigiu até o hospital onde foi atendido, em São Bernardo do Campo. Ele permanecia internado na manhã desta terça-feira (2), mas seu estado de saúde não foi divulgado.
O caso será apresentado no 2º Distrito Policial de Santo André.
